Look at these crops
Aren’t they neat?
Don’t you think that my garden’s complete?
Wouldn’t you think I’m the girl?
The girl who has everything?
Look at this city
How many treasures can one bed hold?
Lookin around here you’d think
They’ve got everything.
We’ve got squash and potatoes of plenty
We’ve got tomatoes and lettuce galore
You want watermelon?
We have 20
But who cares?
No big deal
We’ve got more.
I wanna be where the plants are
I wanna see, wanna see ‘em growing
Sprouting in those—what do you call ‘em?—oh beds.
Using a shovel won’t get you far
Tills are required for turning soil
Moving compost and—what’s that word again? Mulch.
